SUCCESS STORY: LARGE BEEF HIDE TANNERY

PROJECT BACKGROUND

Beef Hide Tannery, Nebraska

  • Two-mile long transmission line carrying high-strength (pH 12) wastewater to the facility's treatment plant

  • Build up inside the line required jetting

  • Jetting required twice a year, taking three employees two days of work to complete process each time

  • After jetting:

    • Flow rate at 30 psi​: 500 GPM

FLOW-TECH SOLUTION

Two-mile long transmission line

  • One (1) 16" Flow-Tech unit installed one transmission line

  • At time of installation, flow rate was 172 gpm

  • Goal: maintain or improve flow rate within 8 inch line

RESULTS

Further scale accumulation prevented

  • Within the first week the flow rate increased to 196 gpm

    • Indicates that some deposits were successfully removed

  • For four months the gpm rate oscillated between 183 and 196

    • Indicates Flow-Tech successfully prevented future depot build-up​ within the line
